Hi all,
We at VinayRas, recently released a drupal module named - "Simplenews Autosubscribe" - allows webmasters to auto-subscribe new users to a pre-defined newsletter.
This module relies on Simplenews module.

Thank you for pointing to simplenew_roles module.
simplenews_roles allows you to import users (based on roles) into newsletter. New registered users are not automatically added to newslettter subscription list - you will have to re-import them.( in the re-importing process - all users will be imported - even those who have opted to unsubscribe)
In case of simplenew_autosubscribe module - all new registration are automatically subscribed to a selected newsletter. The list grows with new registrations.
